Abdullah Syed

Abdullah Syed is a queer artist and marketer based in Washington, DC. His work revolves around food, pop culture, communities and their relationship with each other. When he moved to DC four years ago, his attempts to recreate his mother’s food and celebrate his South Asian roots inevitably drew him to exploring food as a medium of expression. During this residency, he aims to tell the stories of the food culture of the immigrants in the DMV area using photography as a medium.
