MONA E. AVALOS

Mona is an emerging photographer whose work captures a creative perspective of street life, nature and architecture. Her photo of the new Midtown Center in downtown DC was recently featured at IGDC’s first community exhibition. As a research and policy analyst with the Natural Resources Defense Council, Mona’s work has taken her to the wonders of Machu Picchu, Petra and Zanzibar. Her travels have inspired her to capture meaningful moments wherever her lens takes her. Mona is currently working on a project that highlights the importance of how women embrace themselves and practice self-care.
