Dareon Amaru
Dareon Amaru is an avid reader/writer trained in various styles and methods. As a child, the world of books was his playground and the words on the pages became his playmates. His time at The Duke Ellington School of the Arts provided him with a rich education in poetry, prose, playwriting, and journalism. He credits this experience as his awakening to the possibilities of becoming a professional writer. Amaru continued with his love of storytelling at the collegiate level going on to study and earn his BA in English Language and Literature from Georgetown University in 2014.
After graduating from Georgetown, he founded DARE ON LOVE, LLC, which allows him to leverage his storytelling abilities in service to individuals and businesses looking to better articulate their vision and increase engagement with their respective audiences. In June 2019, he debuted BELOVE*D, a t-shirt capsule collection that honors black historical figures, inspired by his experience as a Docent for the National Museum of African-American History and Culture. Amaru considers himself an educator at heart so as he continues to learn more it is empowering for him to share what he knows with others. He remains grounded in his work by this quote from Tupac Shakur, "I'm not saying I'm going to change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world."
