Thomasina Perkins Washington
Thomasina Perkins-Washington is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Principal Publicist of Capitol Public Relations, LLC (CPR) and a Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Fellow. She has held various positions with the US Government as a civilian and contractor and has had a successful career as an Administrator, Financial/Budget Analyst, Foreign Military Sales and Community Outreach Management Analyst where she gained experience and expertise in managing large and small budgets, planning and executing public relations strategies, events, and handling multiple administrative duties with grace and precision.
She brings a unique, no-nonsense approach to business and her sense of style, passion for sports and entertainment, and her keen sense of direction inspired her to establish her firm CPR, LLC. Ever evolving, Perkins-Washington realizes every organization has a story to tell and designed CPR to provide public/media/Community services in a business-to-business or individual format. The company has carved a unique niche creating win/win solutions and opportunities for the CPR organizations and individual clients she and her staff serve. As a Public Relations Manager to professional athletes as well as high profile artists, entertainers, designers, authors, television and radio networks, production companies and heads of corporations, she uses her sense of “to whom much is given; much is required” to foster an attitude of service in her high-profile clientele; by finding what matters most in their world, she is able to create tremendous value. She has also dedicated a good portion of her talents to help musicians and their management teams create strategic public and media relations campaign strategies and ensure each artist is empowered and educated.
In addition to holding many leadership positions, she is a periodic contributor to Just Right Magazine and DC Life Magazine as well as a member of several organizations and associations including: Association for Women in Sports Media (AWSM), Alliance for Women in Media (National Capital Area Chapter), an Official NFLPA (National Football League Players Association) Marketing Representative, Hip Hop Sisters, NABFEME (National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment) and The Recording Academy (DC Grammy Chapter). Born in Jersey City, NJ and raised Abroad and in the US as an "Army Brat", Thomasina was exposed to various cultures during her youth. She has settled in the DC Metro area since 1999, has two adult children, Christopher and Saundra and three (3) grandchildren Camden Washington, Imani Marie and Canaan Perkins.
