Mayor Muriel Bowser Presents 202Creates Digital Masterclass Series, Entrepreneurship Program, Online Office Hours for Creative Entrepreneurs 

Series to cover important topics for business and entrepreneurship as creatives navigate COVID-19

Washington, DC – Mayor Muriel Bowser and the DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) are proud to launch a series of 202Creates online programming to support the District’s creative entrepreneurs in support in response to COVID-19. Launched in September 2016, 202Creates is an entrepreneurship-focused initiative designed to celebrate, support, promote, educate, and provide access to the District's creative entrepreneurs. What started as a celebration has turned into a fast-growing, year-round movement.

“We would like to thank Mayor Bowser for her guidance and leadership through this challenging time,”  said Angie M. Gates, Director of OCTFME. “In response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our creative community, 202Creates has expeditiously transformed the way we support our District entrepreneurs and we clearly understand the need to provide different formats of business support, information and educational opportunities to our creatives in all eight Wards.”

In response to COVID-19, 202Creates will produce the following online programming:

Office Hours - Each week, 202Creates will provide online legal, accounting, finance and general business office hours with experts in their respective fields. Currently, the featured experts include Mona Wilcox, S&T Law Group and Keila Hill-Trawick, Little Fish Accounting. In addition, one-on-one Entrepreneur-in-Residence office hours will be available. Masterclass Series - Through this virtual interactive masterclass series, 202Creates features fireside chats with experienced entrepreneurs to help hone skills and navigate changing business landscapes. The series launches on June 25, 2020 and includes confirmed featured entrepreneurs such as Chefs Kwame Onwuachi and Eric Bruner-Yang, award-winning producer Charneice Fox, and Lita Rosario, Esq, among others. 202Creates Residency - The 202Creates Residency program helps creative entrepreneurs take their creative business or projects from ideation to execution. 202Creates is pleased to provide a virtual residency program to continue training and guidance to entrepreneurs during this challenging time.  The program includes structured entrepreneurship curriculum, featured speakers and experts, one-on-one business coaching, and more. About OCTFME

The Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment (OCTFME) produces and broadcasts programming for the District of Columbia’s public, educational, and government access (PEG) cable television channels and digital radio station; regulates the District of Columbia’s cable television service providers; provides customer service for cable subscribers; and supports a sustainable film, music, and entertainment creative economy and labor market in the District of Columbia.
